Buddy helps you write. It doesn't keep what you write. Here is everything it keeps, everything it doesn't, and where your text goes.

What Buddy keeps
When you sign in with Google, Buddy's server keeps one small record about you:
- your name and email address from Google;
- when you first signed in, and when you last asked Buddy something;
- how many free answers you used today;
- whether the account is blocked.
This record lives in Cloud Firestore, a database on Google Cloud. Only Buddy's server can read it. It is used to count free answers and to stop misuse, and for nothing else. It is never sold or shared.
What Buddy never keeps
- What you write, and what you ask Buddy to do.
- Your screenshots from Check screen.
- The answers Buddy gives you.
- Your AI key, if you add one. It stays on your computer, encrypted, and is sent only to that AI.
Where your text goes
To write an answer, Buddy sends your text (and, for Check screen, a picture of the window you're in) to an AI: the one Buddy's free answers use, or the one whose key you added (Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini or Groq). It is sent only to get that answer. That company's own privacy policy covers what it does with requests.
What Buddy can do on your Mac
- Accessibility: to copy the text you selected and paste the answer back where you were typing. Buddy never reads password fields.
- Screen Recording: only when you press Check screen, to take one picture of the window you're in.
You can switch either off any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Deleting your data
Email akshatg9636@gmail.com from the address you sign in with, and your record is deleted. Signing out of Buddy removes your sign-in from your computer.
